'It’s a dream come true for me'
Armagh Olympian Daniel Wiffen has been selected as one of the flagbearers for the Olympic Closing Ceremony on Sunday.
The 23-year-old came out on top to claim Ireland's first gold medal of the games in the 800m freestyle final before adding an Olympic bronze medal to his impressive collection in the men's 1500m freestyle.Read more: 'Emotional' Daniel Wiffen wins bronze to claim second medal at Paris Olympics On being selected as flagbearer, Daniel said: "I’m so happy, I think it’s a great privilege to hold the flag, and I’m going to hold it high around the stadium and I really can’t wait; it’s a dream come true for me.”
"This Team Ireland; our centenary team has brought us to new heights, and we are all looking forward to celebrating together, not just in Paris tomorrow night, but when we return to Dublin on Monday."
