The town's festivities are then due to be held in earnest from 12pm until 4.30pm on the day itself with an armed forces community fun day hosted by Luther Blissett and Forces United, a division of The Former Players Club.
The event at Sun Sports & Social Club, in Bellmount Wood Avenue, will feature a 6-a-side football tournament, music, a tug-of-war, a bouncy castle, refreshments, and more.“Forces United was our football response to the voice needed in Watford to represent the interests of those serving.” Armed Forces Day is celebrated across the country and is observed on the last Saturday of June each year.
