Armed officers and six police cars raced to Paisley on Wednesday night after reports of a woman being assaulted.
Police descended on Ferguslie Walk at a round 6.40pm and closed off the road to traffic after being alerted to an attack on a woman. The armed officers – who are said to have been deployed as a precaution – soon left the scene after a 33-year-old man was detained. A spokesperson for Police Scotland told the Paisley Daily Express: “Around 6.40pm on Wednesday, October 25, police were called to a report of a woman being assaulted in Ferguslie Walk, Paisley.
“Officers attended and a 33-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident and later released without charge.”
