A woman in her 40s was injured following the incident on Havelock Street and a man in his 20s has been arrested
Armed police descended on a residential street after a woman was bitten by a suspected XL Bully type dog.
The victim, in her 20s, was rushed to hospital following the incident on Havelock Street in Blackpool. At least five police vehicles, a dog unit and armed officers attended the scene shortly after 5.30pm last night . Lancashire Constabulary said a man in his 40s was arrested at a property on suspicion of having a dog dangerously out of control and remains in custody for questioning. A dog, suspected to be an XL Bully type, was seized from the address.The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to a dog bite injury to her hand. Pictures sent to LancsLive showed police blocking entry into the street as a group of people were stood near a police officer.
In a statement issued this morning, a force spokesperson told LancsLive: "We were called at shortly after 5.30pm yesterday to a report that a woman had been bitten by a dog on Havelock Street in Blackpool. Officers, including armed officers, attended and a man in his 40s was arrested at a property on suspicion of having a dog dangerously out of control."The woman, in her 20s, was taken to hospital for treatment to a dog bite injury to her hand.
