Officers were involved in a dramatic standoff
Officers descended on Harehills Lane shortly after 8pm on Friday after West Yorkshire Police received reports that a man, who is wanted in connection with firearms offences, was seen at a home in the street. A dramatic stand off took place and officers detained a number of people at the scene.
But police later realised the wanted man was not at the address and officers were forced to release those who had been detained. A spokesperson for the force said: "At 8.02pm on Friday, police received a report of a man wanted in connection with firearms matters attending an address in Harehills Lane."Armed officers were deployed to the location and a number of people were detained at the scene while enquiries were carried out.
