Emergency services raced to Benarty Avenue in Lochgelly at around 9am after reports of a disturbance.
Armed police stormed a Fife street this morning after a man was reportedly seen kicking down a house door wielding a machete.
Horrified locals reported seeing the man waving the weapon around whilst attempting to boot down the entrance to a property.Cops confirmed they have launched a probe into the incident and are searching for the man, who has not yet been detained. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 7.10am on Thursday, 17 October, 2024, police received a report of a man in possession of a weapon, causing a disturbance outside a property in Benarty Avenue, Crosshill.
"Officers are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area around this time who may have witnessed the incident."
