A 31-year-old man was arrested at a pub on Lake Road in Windermere on suspicion of affray and possession of a bladed article
Officers from Cumbria Police were called to the incident on Lake Road, Ambleside, shortly before 6pm on Sunday night . When they arrived at the scene they were told the man had left the area and was seen heading to Windermere.
A 31-year-old man was later arrested at a pub on Lake Road in Windermere on suspicion of affray and possession of a bladed article. He remains in custody for questioning.Cumbria Police said that during the search to find the alleged offender, armed officers carried out a search of a train at Windermere station. The force said armed were 'deployed as a precaution' and no one was injured during the incident.
In a statement issued last night, Cumbria Police said: "Officers have made an arrest after a report of a man with a knife at a hotel in Ambleside. We were called to the incident at a hotel on Lake Road, Ambleside at around 5:51pm today . "The man was reported to have left the area following the incident and was seen heading to Windermere. Officers arrested the man, aged 31, at a pub on Lake Road, Windermere on suspicion of affray and possession of a bladed article.
"He remains in police custody. During enquiries to locate the man armed officers carried out a search of a train at Windermere station.
