Liverpool transfer news as Atalanta star Ederson emerges as a possible summer arrival under Arne Slot
Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Atalanta midfielder Ederson this summer. The 24-year-old impressed with the Serie A side last season and has been outlined as a potential target for a list of top European clubs.
Teun Koopmeiners, also at Atalanta, has been linked with a move to Liverpool having worked with Slot at AZ Alkmaar. However, it's now claimed that focus is on Ederson and bringing the former Corinthians star to Anfield. After losing a host of midfielders 12 months ago, the Reds' midfield lacked the relevant quality to compete at the top of the Premier League. Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai proved to be good signings with Wataru Endo doing the job as the defensive anchor.
