Liverpool had planned for a behind-closed-doors game during the international break but Darwin Nunez can now take part in Uruguay's upcoming fixtures as things stand
If Premier League managers are usually concerned when their big-name players fly out for international duty, that Darwin Nunez is now available for Uruguay for their upcoming fixtures will instead be welcomed by Liverpool head coach Arne Slot . Nunez had initially been suspended for five games for his part in the Copa America chaos after Uruguay's semi-final exit to Colombia in the United States in July.
It's a provisional appeal that could still see the former Benfica star miss the games, but he is with his national side in the belief that is cleared to play some part. Slot said he had toyed with the idea of setting up a behind-closed-doors match to keep his non-international contingent fresh, which Nunez would have benefitted from.
