Liverpool head coach Arne Slot was asked about the No.6 position after his side's friendly double header against Sevilla and Las Palmas on Sunday
Arne Slot has revealed he already knows who he intends to start at number six for Liverpool’s Premier League opener away at Ipswich Town next weekend. Ryan Gravenberch and Wataru Endo played as the deepest-lying midfielders in the Reds’ two pre-season friendlies against Sevilla and Las Palmas on Sunday. Curtis Jones, Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai have also played deeper during the summer, while Liverpool’s ongoing search for a new number six is well documented.
Alisson Becker, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, Mac Allister and Luis Diaz all started against Sevilla to make their first appearances of pre-season, while Joe Gomez came off the bench. Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo then made their maiden summer outings when starting against Las Palmas, along with Andy Robertson following his return from injury.
