Alisson was the one remaining absent player from the Reds' 14-strong contingent of players who featured in the European Championships or Copa America earlier in the summer.
Alisson, who reached the quarter-finals of the Copa America with Brazil, had been linked strongly with interest from Saudi Arabia earlier in the summer, although such suggestions have subsequently subdued with the Saudi Pro League having started looking elsewhere for goalkeeping reinforcements. The 31-year-old, who still has three years remaining on his contract, has shown no inclination of wanting to leave while Liverpool have no desire to part with their first-choice shot-stopper.
