"Nevertheless we ask residents to put their bins out as scheduled as we are doing everything we can to address these missed collections over the coming days," Barone said. "The City of Sydney supports the rights of workers to take action to achieve fair wages and conditions."She said council was urging the union and Cleanaway to resolve the matter quickly.

A Cleanaway spokesperson said it met with union representatives late yesterday afternoon and offered pay increases of five and four per cent, dated back to July 1, 2022.
