A man has been arrested after allegedly exposing himself at a children's playground in East Lancashire. Lancashire Police said officers were called to Sough Park, in Earby, on the afternoon of Friday, June 5, following reports that a man had exposed himself in the children's play area.
Officers said the incident had caused "a lot of concern and anger" among local residents. In an update issued this weekend, the force confirmed that a man had been identified and arrested in connection with the incident. No further details about the suspect have been released. In a statement, PC Ingham and PCSO Waterworth of Colne and West Craven Police said: "We are aware of an incident that took place last Friday afternoon, 5th June, at Sough Park at Earby.
It was reported that a male had been in the childrens playground and had exposed himself.
"Officers from the West Craven Neighbourhood Policing Team have been speaking to residents including the person that witnessed this directly. The person involved in this has been identified.
"The male identified has been arrested in relation to various offences and investigations into his behaviour are ongoing. I understand that this has caused a lot of concern and anger with local residents, all I can say at this moment in time is that he is known to officers and we will be paying close attention to this person, any investigations or orders he is subject to, which arise from any investigations into him.
"If you have any concerns about this, or you witness any person acting in a strange manner, whether this be in a park or other place, please could I ask that this is reported to the Police immediately, so that it can be checked and appropriate action can be taken.
