Don't rely on the 'luck of the Irish' to get home safely... celebrate responsibly by using one of the 600 free or reduced-fair LYFT rides in Summit County!
SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio - Summit County residents can get a free ride home over the St. Patrick’s Day holiday, thanks to Arrive Alive, a campaign that hopes to keep drunk drivers off the roads.
Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich urges everyone to not rely on the “luck of the Irish” to get home safe while celebrating. Instead, Prosecutor Kolkovich and Sheriff Kandy Fatheree teamed up with the ride-share service LYFT to provide 600 free or reduced-fair rides home to Summit County residents.Use LYFT code “SUMMITGREEN24″ for a free ride home up to $20.“As County Prosecutor my mission is to keep Summit County residents safe. The Arrive Alive program does just that by helping keep drunk or impaired drivers off the road. I don’t want a fun celebration to turn into tragedy,” Prosecutor Kolkovich said.
“As Sheriff, I oversee the county’s OVI Task Force – a partnership between my office and numerous local police departments,” stated Sheriff Fatheree. “Rest assured, we will be heavily active this St. Patrick’s Day weekend, with extra patrols and checkpoints throughout the county. If you’re planning to be out drinking this weekend, please make use of the Arrive Alive program to avoid an unpleasant run-in with my deputies.”More than 4,000 people have used the service since then.
