Arsenal have made a decision on whether to appeal William Saliba's red card vs Bournemouth ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash with Liverpool.
Arsenal have reportedly chosen not to appeal the red card handed to William Saliba in Saturday's 2-0 loss to Bournemouth, meaning he will be absent for Sunday's showdown with Liverpool. The defender was sent off on the half-hour mark after bringing down Bournemouth forward Evanilson as the last man. Referee Rob Jones initially showed a yellow card but upgraded it to a red following a VAR review, which determined that he had denied a clear goal-scoring opportunity.
This could leave the Gunners without both the Frenchman and Martin Odegaard for the match, while an update on Bukayo Saka's availability is awaited following his injury absence against Bournemouth. Centre-back pair Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes have started every Premier League game this season. The only match neither has started in all competitions was the 7-0 League Cup demolition of Bolton Wanderers last month, where Riccardo Calafiori partnered Jakub Kiwior.
