Arsenal's lead cut and top six contenders tumble in Premier League table without VAR decisions

has assessed all 81 on-field decisions taken by VAR and analysed how the Premier League table would look had those decisions not taken place.Had VAR not been in place, Arsenal’s lead at the top of the table wouldn’t be anywhere near as convincing.

The Gunners are currently eight points clear of Manchester City, however, that lead would be just three points without VAR, while Pep Guardiola’s men have a game in hand on them. Manchester United and Tottenham currently occupy third and fourth spot, but while Spurs would move from fourth to third, it’s Newcastle who would benefit with an extra point that would take them into the top four.

For United, they’d be two points worse off which would see them drop down to fifth in the table, with Brighton breathing down their necks due to a four-point swing in their favour.
