The clash between Pep Guardiola's side and Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium is set to be the first in Premier League history to feature the new technology
Manchester City's weekend fixture against Arsenal is set to trial a new 'railcam' camera angle as the Premier League looks to offer brand new ways of giving audiences at home different perspectives.
It was the first time that Mikel Arteta's men have been beaten all season, leaving them in need of a bounce-back win against Guardiola's side at the Emirates where the new camera system will be utilised. The new 'Game Mode' camera angle will move from side to side in line with the action on the pitch in order to give viewers a better view of player and ball movement across the pitch, while simultaneously giving a greater appreciation of the space on the field itself.
Phil Marshall, Sky Sports' director of production added: "We’re very excited to see what ‘Game Mode’ can bring to the overall viewing experience for fans and believe it has great potential when it comes to in-game innovation. It's believed that if proven to be successful, the angle could be utilised for the rest of the Premier League games to take place at the Emirates Stadium this season, which is where the technology is being implemented first.
