Arsenal have been forced to abandon their moves for Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Sporting CP star Viktor Gyokeres due to their respective valuations – while Benjamin Sesko elected to sign a new Leipzig deal instead of finalising a move to England.Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz were preferred to Nketiah in the 2023-24 campaign in the centre-forward role.
Selling the one-cap England international is an even more attractive proposition for Arsenal due to his home-grown status. That will allow the club to record pure profit in their accounts and reduce their allowable losses under the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules .Lewisham-born Nketiah started in just 13 of his 37 appearances across the 2023-24 campaign, notching six goals and three assists.
The forward, who is under contract until June 2027, is now considered a fringe player by manager Mikel Arteta.
