Jack Antonoff's mighty little music festival returned to The Stone Pony Summer Stage Saturday
Bleachers closing out the Shadow of the City Music Festival at the Stone Pony Summer Stage on Saturday, June 15, 2024.. Only about 150 people showed up to the 2,500-capacity club, but Antonoff and company rocked the room like it was a sold-out arena. High energy, grand choruses — from Bleachers’ then-just-released debut album “Strange Desire” — and a palpable sense that Jersey guy Antonoff and his motley, vaguely nerdy troupe of bandmates were only just beginning.
Antonoff, 40, and the proudest Jersey native you’ll ever meet, was effusive to his packed house: “Thank you for having our backs for so many years,” he said. “To be able to have this place where we come back and meet, it’s our lifeblood.” Antonoff has certainly walked the walk in this regard, taking up a primary residence on Long Beach Island last year, relocating from his New York City apartment with his new wife, actress Margaret Qualley. The two were wed on LBI last year at aBleachers closing out the Shadow of the City Music Festival at the Stone Pony Summer Stage on Saturday, June 15, 2024.
