The supermarket giant has announced the launch of a £50m store upgrade programme
Asda has unveiled a £50m store upgrade programme today, aimed at enhancing the shopping experience for customers in larger supermarkets and superstores - including one Greater Manchester area which will see improved stores over the coming months. The upgrades will include new foyers, seasonal aisles, food-to-go counters, flooring and lighting, as well as new in-store services and features.
These enhancements will feature a brand-new George department in some stores, new foyers, seasonal aisles, food-to-go services, counters, and new flooring and lighting. The remaining stores will see refreshed exterior and interior decoration in line with Asda's recent introduction of a new brand identity, encompassing an updated logo, typography and colour palette.
Work is set to be carried out over a five-week stretch, but Asda has assured customers that stores will stay open throughout, with little to no inconvenience anticipated. Ian Brackenbury, Senior Director of Construction and Implementation at Asda, commented: "We are always looking at ways in which we can improve the overall experience for our customers and this program is one of the many ways we are actively doing that.
