Major UK supermarkets and retailers have pulled a number of food products from shelves over health and safety fears
The Food Standards Agency has warned supermarket customers about products such as beer, chocolate and pizza which are being pulled from the shelves. Point of sale notices have been issued by retailers such as Asda, Morrisons and John Lewis over fears the items could make customers sick.
Beer Heathwick Ltd is recalling Saugatuck Brewing Co. Neapolitan Milk Stout and Blueberry & Maple Stout because they contain milk and oats which are not mentioned on the label. The FSA said this means these products are a possible health risk for anyone with coeliac disease, an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents and/ or oats .
Pizza Dunnes Stores is continuing to recall Dunnes Stores Simply Better Italian Calabrian Salami & Sausage Pizza because it contains egg which is not mentioned on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to egg.Dunnes Stores Simply Better Italian Calabrian Salami & Sausage PizzaThe FSA said: "If you have bought the above product and have an allergy or intolerance to egg, do not eat it.
