The rosé has caught the attention of wine drinkers
One million cases of Whispering Angel are sold annually in more than 100 countries around the world, Adele has declared herself a fan and it is stocked in supermarkets across the UK. But shoppers think they have found a cheaper alternative to rival the popular tipple.
Sold at Asda for £13, Screaming Devil Côtes de Provence is "perfumed white peach, bright mango, and passion fruit aromas, along with some rhubarb notes on the nose." The rosé has caught the attention of wine drinkers, including wine expert Tom Gibley. In an Instagram post, Tom said the £13 Screaming Devil rosé wine was "juicy, tasty and perfectly good rosé." When taste testing the wine against Whispering Angel in an Instagram post, he said: "I literally love that wine . That is effing good rosé. It is significantly better than Whispering Angel and £5 cheaper."
Shoppers have shared their opinions of Screaming Devil on Asda's website. One shopper said: "An excellent liquid with a cheeky nod to a more expensive alternative."A third shopper said: "A nice rose, it has been likened to whispering Angel- it’s not but not as nice. Can’t complain for the price."
