The most prolific of these websites is Tattle Life, an online gossip forum where people can write anonymously about those in the public eye. It’s easy to brush it off as harmless gossip but given the increase in malicious social service tips offs, and the fact that those on the website try to uncover personal information about celebrities – including where they live and where their children go to school – there is no denying that it’s a website that thrives on harassment.
However – as a few friends of mine, and Instagram accounts dedicated to exposing Tattle Life have found – if you are to open an account and dare to defend celebrities from the merciless attacks, your account is closed within minutes. So, it appears the moderators are working. It seems to me that they won’t shut down troll accounts but will close the accounts of people trying to defend targeted celebs.

But I am not the only victim of this campaign of harassment that starts and is encouraged by users on Tattle Life. In the last few months alone I’ve seen Charlotte Dawson, online mum influencer Part Time Working Mummy, and another influencer called Fuller Figure Bust face the same fate. In the case of Fuller Figure Bust, a new mum, she couldn’t handle it and has now made her Instagram account private.
