Aston Villa are beaten in their final game of their pre-season tour of the United States, but Crystal Palace and Wolverhampton Wanderers both claim wins.
Aston Villa's finished their US tour having lost all three matches with a late Illian Hernandez strike inflicting defeat on Unai Emery's side at Chicago's Soldier Field stadium.
But Club America, backed by more of the crowd than Villa, finished the game strongly and secured the victory when Hernandez beat the offside trap and then sent a calm finish beyond 20-year-old goalkeeper Oliwier Zych.“This match in pre-season was to try to find our feet and to show ourselves against America with a lot of Mexican fans here," said Emery.
West Ham begin the new Premier League season against Aston Villa on 17 August and new boss Julen Lopetegui accepted there is plenty of work to be done before then.
