Aston Villa fought back from a two-goal deficit to earn a 2-2 draw against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

Aston Villa staged a remarkable comeback to earn a 2-2 draw against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday. The Gunners dominated the first half with Leandro Trossard providing assists for Gabriel Martinelli and Kai Havertz, giving them a comfortable two-goal lead. However, Villa fought back with Youri Tielemans and Ollie Watkins scoring to secure a point for Unai Emery's side.

Despite a bright start from Arsenal, they came agonizingly close to opening the scoring in the ninth minute when Thomas Partey's shot from a corner sailed over the bar. The breakthrough finally came in the 34th minute when Martinelli reacted perfectly to Trossard's cross, beating Ian Maatsen to the ball and getting it past Emi Martinez despite the goalkeeper's efforts. To compound Villa's woes, they suffered an injury blow as Amadou Onana had to be substituted shortly after. Trossard was instrumental again in Arsenal's second goal, this time taking his time against Matty Cash before delivering a precise pass for Havertz to volley in. However, Villa rallied back with Tielemans finding the net from a fantastic cross by substitute Lucas Digne, leaving Mikel Merino scrambling. Villa continued their pressure, with Watkins equalizing in the 68th minute after Cash's cross found him unmarked at the back post. Arsenal pushed for a winner, but VAR disallowed a goal by Merino for a handball from Havertz. The drama continued into stoppage time with Merino hitting the post before Trossard missed a chance to score. Villa held on to secure a point, leaving Arsenal six points behind Liverpool, who have a game in hand
