Calls to report violence against women spiked 52% in first two months of Mexico lockdown
At least 32 phone calls to 911 reporting violence against women were made each hour during the first two months of the COVID-19 shutdown in Mexico. A total of 47,893 calls to 911 were placed during the first 61 days of the government-imposed measures to combat the spread of the pandemic.
