A man has died while competing in the 40th edition of the Garmin Noosa Triathlon at the weekend on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.
Tragedy has struck at this year’s Garmin Noosa Triathlon after a competitor was pulled from the water unresponsive on Sunday and later pronounced dead.
He was pulled unconscious from the water about 7:50am on Sunday and received urgent medical attention at Main Beach in Noosa Heads.However, the man was unable to be revived. "The athlete received immediate aid by fellow athletes towards the end of the swim before being extracted from the water for continued medical assistance by water safety and medical personnel.
