Atlanta United are reportedly considering a renewed offer for Celtic striker Kyogo Furuhashi despite previous rejections. The MLS club is willing to spend up to £10 million on the Japanese forward but faces resistance from Celtic, who are keen to retain their star player.

Atlanta Utd are preparing to make a fresh bid for Kyogo Furuhashi , according to a report. The MLS outfit are thought to be willing to fork out up to £10million for the Celtic striker, but have been given the cold shoulder by the Hoops who are determined to hold on to their no 8. However, the Americans are weighing up whether to launch a new offer.

Talks with Benfica over Artur Cabral are said to have stalled and Atlanta, who have two designated player slots to fill and money to spend, have Kyogo on a list of options, claim the Daily Mail. Former Hoops boss Ronnie Deila took charge of Atlanta last week and with former Inter Miami suit Chris Henders now in charge of soccer operations at the club, chief exec Gareth Lagerwey has assured fans they are prepared to make big moves in the transfer market. He said: 'We promised that we were going to remake the club,’ he said. ‘This is the first big one and there’ll be more to come to make this better in 2025.' Designated player status would mean Kyogo could bank significantly higher wages than the average MLS player. However, he still has two-and-a-half years left on his £20,000 per-week deal at Parkhead. And the Premiership champions are unwilling to sell with a genuine shot of making the Champions League knockout stage. However, an offer in the tens of millions may mean there is a decision to be made. Brendan Rodgers is keen to add a third striker to his squad if he can, but very much sees Kyogo as his first choice. Celtic forked out £9.5million to land Adam Idah on a permanent deal in the summer, so there is another senior front man to step in if the decision is made to cash in on Kyogo
