Police say Justin Leverett, 37, punched another man's eye out of its socket during an argument. He then punched the detached eyeball causing it to burst.
the Mobile Police Department wrote: ‘During an argument, the suspect punched the victim in the face causing his eye to pop out of its socket.’The fight is believed to have occurred across the street from the Stewart Memorial Church on Dr Martin Luther King Jr Avenue in Mobile Alabama on April 20
After the horrific attack, Leverett apparently fled the scene and as authorities searched for him for days before he finally turned himself in.Marvin Lue, Pastor of Stewart Memorial Church which is across the street where the fight reportedly took place, told Fox News: ‘Things that would only happen in super hero action movies are happening everyday.’
Lue detailed how the violence in the neighborhood has increased in severity, saying it was ‘Just so horrifying, so horrific, so graphic. It used to be, you get in a fight, you get a black eye, you get hit in the stomach you go home. Now people are losing limbs, people are losing vital organs.’‘We hope and pray that the violence ceases, people began to value life again.
