Listed at 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds, Anquon Fegans has helped Thompson to a trio of 7A state titles.
Fegans pledged to Auburn over Clemson, Georgia and LSU during a commitment celebration in Birmingham on Monday evening, giving Hugh Freeze and the Tigers their second commitment of the day and seventh in three days.
Further helping Auburn’s case with Anquon Fegans was its decision to bring aboard his other older brother, Antwon Fegans Jr., who transferred to Auburn in May. “He’s real instinctual,” Thompson head coach Mark Freeman told AL.com in June. “He’s got street smarts. He can bait a quarterback into making throws he shouldn’t make. Some of that is God given. We call it street knowledge … baiting quarterbacks into a throw and you are there to make a pick or make a big hit.”
