He won The Masters three times and is one of the game's bona fide legends. But he doesn't feel welcome at the exclusive Augusta National anymore 😞

He claims the ultra-exclusive course won't even allow him to play a practice round without the company of a club member, despite having donned the famous green jacket thrice."After all I've contributed to the tournament and been an ambassador for them, I can't go and have a practice round there with my three grandchildren without having to beg a member to play with us, and there's always some excuse," Player told The Times.

"It's just sad – and I put great emphasis on the word sad – that Augusta make you feel welcome in that regard because I helped make this tournament what it is."Gary Player plays his opening tee shot during the opening ceremony of the 2021 Masters.

Nevertheless, Player is scheduled to be an honorary starter again on Thursday night alongside Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson when the Masters begins.
