Cynthia Flores, from left, Loan Tran and Eiza Briones are among the Alameda Unified School District’s staff managing the schools’ free summer meals program every weekday at four locations.Schools are out, and Alameda Unified School District teachers and principals are on a well deserved break. That doesn’t mean the whole district is at rest, though. Summer is a busy, busy time for the AUSD as staff who work year-round wrap up this last school year and prepare for the next one.

We’re aware these projects can cause some dust, noise and traffic congestion, and we appreciate the community’s patience and support as we continue to work to create better facilities and campuses for our students and staff. Our custodians will be hard at work doing deep floor-to-ceiling cleaning at our school sites.
