Aussie fears over Demon injury as star left out of USA showdown
Alex de Minaur is facing a race to be fit for Australia ’s Davis Cup quest after captain Lleyton Hewitt left him out of the squad for November’s knockout showdown with the USA.
Jordan Thompson, Thanasi Kokkinakis, Max Purcell and Matthew Ebden round out Australia’s quintet, the same five who won two of three matches in Valencia to progress to the final eight. Should they take down the Americans, Italy, led by world No.1 Jannik Sinner, loom as their next opponents.
