Australian opera and theatre star Jacqueline Dark has died at the age of 55.
The mezzo-soprano passed away in a Sydney hospital on Tuesday night and was one of Australia's most beloved singers on the opera stage.
After graduating from the Victorian College of the Arts Dark embarked on her extensive career in singing, performing across various areas including theatre, cabaret and concert. "Terribly sad news of the death of the Australian soprano Jacqueline Dark, aged 55, after a long struggle with cancer," Opera Magazine wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
