“Our job, officers' job is to serve the public," said Austin Police Association President Michael Bullock. "It’s to take care of our citizens and the best way that that’s going to be accomplished is by investing and by taking care of the officers that are responsible for providing those services.” “People want to feel safe in their communities," said Bullock. "They want to feel safe going to and from work and where they spend time with their families.”It is no secret the Austin Police Department has struggled over the past few years to fill vacant positions.
