Senator Farrell had previously warned that he was prepared to walk away from negotiations, telling Sky News Australia on Sunday that the trade deal tabled by the EU wasn’t “good enough”.The European Commission confirmed talks had been scuttled in a statement to POLITCO earlier today. The failure to reach a deal now means negotiations will likely have to wait until after next June’s European elections, where a new European Commission will be appointed.
