An Australia Post delivery contractor reversing into a honking car has been captured on dashcam footage in Melbourne. 7NEWS
for failing to meet delivery standards.Watch the latest news and stream for free onThe footage shows a Victorian driver slowing his car and stopping a few metres behind an Australia Post delivery driver in an Alphington carpark, off Mills St, just after 7.30pm on Friday, January 27.
A short blast of a car horn is sounded as an initial warning, and then again for almost three seconds, but neither seems to be heard by the delivery driver who reverses straight into the honking vehicle behind them. There was no damage to any parcels which were all successfully delivered, 7NEWS.com.au also understands.
“We sincerely apologise for this incident, which is not in line with the high standards we expect when delivering to the community,” it said.Dashcam footage captured the moment an Australia Post delivery contractor reversed into the honking vehicle behind them.The video was posted to a Facebook group in which Australian motorists submit dashcam footage - and where many users commented this type of incident is all too common.
