Privately-run explorer has achieved access to over 10 million acres within ‘Ring of Fire’ gap
Privately-run explorer MDF Global has just closed a potential US$50 million agreement on what the Brisbane-based company describes as "one of the most ambitious precious and critical metals generative programs in North America".
The opportunity exists because some 44 million acres rights were vested in 13 native corporations after the tribes gave up their native title claims in 1971, with the deal initially focused on the original North Slope oil and gas exploration boom.More than 50 years later, the 13 corporations are the largest Alaskan-owned companies, with interests including energy, oil and gas, tourism, real estate and mineral exploration and annual revenues in the billions of dollars.
