The changes, which will be implemented on Monday, May 1, will affect operations of Rex’s fleet of the Saab 340 turboprop aircraft in routes acrossThere will be a reduction in nine flight routes, and the timings of four other flight routes will change.Rex general manager of network strategy Warrick Lodge said the adjustments had to be made due to supply chain issues, along with a “chronic shortage” of pilots and engineers.
“These adjustments are necessitated by the chronic shortage of airline professionals, particularly pilots and engineers, as well as the severe disruption in the supply chain of aircraft and engine parts,” Lodge said. “We do understand the impact these adjustments would have on the regional communities affected as Rex is the lifeline for these communities.Rex Airlines announced major changes to regional flight routes across four Australian states.
