A veteran Liberal MP has begun advocating for COVID-19 vaccine injury victims who claim they have been ignored and abandoned by a bungled Australian Government compensation scheme.
Veteran Liberal MP Russell Broadbent has taken up the case of the thousands of Australians who have experienced an adverse reaction after getting the COVID-19 jab.
The long-serving member for Monash said he had met with Jacob, a “tough as nails” former fencing contractor who had been forced into truck-driving after a debilitating vaccine injury. Former AMA president Kerryn Phelps is one of many Australians speaking out about vaccine injury in an attempt to ignite a conversation about the vaccine program and response.
“Without acknowledgment and recognition of post-vaccination syndrome or vaccine injury, there can be no progress in developing protocols for diagnosis and treatment and it is difficult to be included in research projects or treatment programs. Launched in December 2021 by the previous government, the COVID-19 vaccine claims system was designed to compensate Australians who had suffered a “moderate to severe impact” following inoculation.
Applications are also dependent on a doctor’s report, but many GPs face deregistration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency threatening doctors who promote supposedly “anti-vaccination” claims.
