The head of Australia's defence force has praised the 'extraordinarily impressive' work of Ukraine's army in fighting off Russian aggression, but warned the war was likely to continue as long as both sides maintained the 'will' to fight.
General Angus Campbell on Tuesday delivered a speech to the Lowy Institute, as he outlined the existential nature of the conflict for Kyiv's defenders."If Ukraine stops fighting, Ukraine stops existing."
"What we see from the President, all the way through the Ukrainian people, is utter commitment to fight to recover Ukraine. Sovereign, territorially, whole, and free," he said. General Campbell said Vladimir Putin wanted to"extinguish" Ukraine, but that his forces were not showing the same level of tactical skill and innovation as their Ukrainian counterparts.
