The Australian Securities and Investments Commission alleged that Magnis, despite becoming aware of inaccuracies in its claims regarding funding of the Endicott, New York battery plant and cell output capacity, failed to disclose the information in a timely manner. Magnis made multiple announcements between April 2021 and March 2023, stating the project was fully funded to generate at least 1 GWh of lithium-ion battery cells per year and that the project had begun commercial production, among others.
