Brendan Kerry, who was an Australian flag bearer at the Beijing Winter Olympics, has been barred from US figure skating after an investigation led by the country’s peak sports abuse authority.

One of Australia’s most successful figure skaters has been permanently barred from competing in the United States after an investigation found he engaged in sexual misconduct with a minor.

Hailing from Sydney, Kerry is one of Australia’s most successful figure skaters, competing in the 2014, 2018 and 2022 Winter Olympics. He is also an eight-time Australian champion. Kerry is permanently barred from participating in any event sponsored and/or organised by the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee or any US figure skating bodies.
