Hormonal changes contribute to it often being diagnosed later in life, as many women “fly under the radar” until menopause, cardiologist Dr Chin Lim said. The well-publicised symptoms of CVD do not necessarily present the same way for women as they do for men, Lim told 7NEWS.com.au. “Men usually experience chest discomfort as a sign of coronary artery disease ... short breath and nauseous,” he said. “But in women, the symptoms may be a little bit weaker.
