A teen girl who was reported missing from Grove City late Friday night has been found, police said, and a suspect is in custody in the case.
Authorities said 15-year-old Kaylee Cope was taken from her home in Grove City around 11:30 p.m. on Friday night. She was reported missing on Saturday morning just before 6 a.m. by her mother.Officers identified the suspect in the case as 17-year-old Jeffery Gimenez, whom police said is Cope's boyfriend. Giminez was taken into police custody on Saturday afternoon.
Police said Gimenez had warrants for previous incidents including robbery and kidnapping out of an incident in Pickaway County, and that he had said on social media that he 'has a bullet' for the victim. A stolen vehicle believed to be connected to the case was recovered on Sullivant Avenue in Columbus. Details on that vehicle have not yet been released.
Grove City police thanked their law enforcement partners including the Franklin County Sheriff's Office and Columbus Division of Police for their assistance in the case.
