The family of Tamzin Hall , a 17-year-old autistic girl from Somerset , have released a statement describing her as the kindest, caring, and loyal person they knew. Tamzin died after fleeing from a police vehicle on the M5 motorway on November 11. During the inquest at Wells Town Hall, it was revealed that after being transported under arrest in a police vehicle , Tamzin got out of the car, crossed the road, and climbed the crash barrier.
She was hit by another vehicle on the southbound carriageway and later pronounced dead. Tamzin's mother, Amy Hall, expressed her devastation over the tragedy, highlighting Tamzin's unique perception of the world due to her autism. The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) is investigating the circumstances of the incident
