Margot Robbie is being eyed to star in Warner Bros.' Avengelyne, which is being directed by Olivia Wilde and written by Tony McNamara.
Deadline’s article also notes that Robbie’s casting is “subject to script.” McNamara previously worked on the screenplays for 2018’s The Favourite, 2021’s Cruella, and, most recently, 2023’s Poor Things.“Avengelyne is an angel who fights the forces of evil and often finds herself face-to-face with demons and monsters,” Deadline’s article reads.
Avengelyne first appeared in 1995’s Avengelyne: Deadly Sins #1, which was published by Maximum Press. The character has also been in stories published by Awesome Entertainment, Avatar Press, Arcana Studio, and Image Comics. Wilde has so far directed two feature films up until this point: 2019’s Booksmart and 2022’s Don’t Worry Darling.
