The restaurant has been open in the Baltic Triangle since 2019
Chinese restaurant Lu Ban opened in 2019 on Stanhope Street, Cain's Brewery in the Baltic Triangle. Led by chef Dave Critchley , Lu Ban went on to win a Gold Award at the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2022 and Restaurant of the Year at the Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards.
However for those who didn't wish to experience fine dining, the restaurant also offered a standard menu, which featured much loved Chinese favourites and a bottomless brunch. Breaking the news on social media Lu Ban owners said that the cost of living crisis and increasing financial pressure on running the restaurant contributed to the difficult decision to close.
