George Robertson is a multi award winning photographer who just this week was the winner of Mountain Photo of the Year 2024 for an image taken on the Isle of Skye.
The guest speaker at the latest meeting of Motherwell Photographic Society was George Robertson who is a member of Milngavie and Bearsden Camera Club and the Scottish Photographic Circle.
George, who is an international mountain leader, gave a presentation called “The Snows of Kilimanjaro – Trekking on Africa’s Highest Mountain”. The free download features the latest breaking news and exclusive stories, and allows you to customise your page to the sections that matter most to you.The first part of his presentation contained images of the villages and people who live in the area at the base of the mountain. The club members were then treated to a series of fantastic images taken at various stages of the climb.
George gave a fascinating insight into the logistics of leading a large group of people to the top of Kilimanjaro and also getting them back down safely.
