The terrorism offence relates to a PDF file entitled Military Studies In The Jihad Against The Tyrants, The Al Qaeda Training Manual which he is said to have possessed between August 29 2021 and July 30 2024. The ricin, a deadly poison, and the document were found during searches of the home in Banks, Lancashire, which he shared with his parents, who are originally from Rwanda. He will be sentenced on Thursday for the offences. Any potentially contaminated clothes should be placed in plastic bags. It’s not recommended to induce vomiting or drink fluids. Death from ricin poisoning could take place within 36 to 72 hours of exposure, depending on how the person was exposed and the dose received. The survival rate of castor bean ingestion is about 98%, and death is unlikely to occur if the victim survives for longer than five days after ricin poisoning. Castor beans are not considered edible because of their high concentration of ricin, as well as being difficult to digest. Castor beans are processed across the world to create castor oil. The oil is used in laxatives as well as an ingredient in skin and hair products. Ricin is part of the waste ‘mash’ produced when castor oil is made.
